What sort of colorblind are you? I have a nephew who sees the world in shades of gray.

Partially red-green and partially blue-yellow. I could give you the more scientific names after I read the article, if you like. I can't proprly distinguish between pastels or earth tones, but can see bright primary colors. I can see a very bright yellow as yellow, and very bright green as green (mostly) but when their hue fades, I can't tell them apart. Also have difficulty seeing pinks and purples.

It complicates things, sometimes.

when i was still an undergrad, i took a painting class and one of the first things we have to paint (besides the requisite greyscale still life) is a still life lit from one side in red and the other in green. which would have been fine, except one of the guys in my class was colorblind (the red/green kind, apparently) and he was having a real hard time of it.

it was like that throwaway in UHF with the blind guy working on the rubik's cube. he would mix the color he *thought* was right, bring it over to me and say "is that it?" luckily, he had kind of adapted a color scheme to work around his "difficulty," which produced some stunning work and really wild color combos.

but nothing makes me laugh more than seeing a painting in reds and greens now.

I checked out "Top 50 English-language Poems" and I love the fact that William Blake wrote 15 of them.

I *heart" William Blake!

Me too! The Tyger is one of my all-time favorite poems.

By the way, thank you for that post you did a few days ago on the biblical take on homosexuality. I had a lot of fun commenting. :)

Kewl! "The Tyger" is my favorite William Blake poem, too!

And thank YOU for commenting. I admit that I was very hesitant to make that post but the discussion about biblical laws and perspectives was absolutely amazing. (^.^)v

If Shrub's approval ratings drop any lower, I'll start smacking Democratic congresscritters in the head for not taking advantage of the situation. (As it is, I'm all for financing an impeachment drive with midnight movie screenings: not only do I have the best documentary for the Bush Administration ever made, but the rental rates for Beavis and Butt-Head Do America mean that more money goes to the candidates instead of administration.)
